Bella is a 5-year-old girl who is looking for a new place. She needs a foster who can spend more time with her. Bella found herself at a local shelter after her family moved and left her behind. She has not had the best of luck finding another dog to be her bff so a home with no other dogs would probably work best. Bella is not excited about cats after she found herself on the receiving end of some pretty sharp claws when she accidentally backed into a cat kennel at the shelter.

All of these dogs are in need of a place to go. The rescues we partner with all are foster-based and do not have a facility to house the dogs in. They rely on temporary foster homes while they network and share the dogs via social media and adoption events.

Foster Application

The warmer months mean more dogs are on the loose and dumped. Sadly, many never find a home and are euthanized at local shelters. The Escambia County, FL shelter euthanized 72 dogs and 291 cats in June 2018 (monthly report). Many of the smaller rescues in this area of Florida and Alabama are foster-based and do not have a facility to house a great number of dogs or cats. By opening your home and heart to a homeless animal you can help reduce the number of healthy animals euthanized by shelters across the country.

The process to apply to foster is pretty simple and straightforward. Click on the link above for any of the dogs on this page. Complete and submit the application, takes less than 10 minutes, and the application is sent directly to the rescue. From there a volunteer with the rescue will contact you to talk about the dog.
